Changing the default application in Ubuntu

If, for example, you do not want Wine's hh application to open .chm files, you will probably want to change the default application.

In this example, pick a .chm file, right click on it and select Properties. Note: did you select 'Properties' and NOT 'Open with Other Application...'? Good.

Within the Properties, select the "Open With" tab and choose the application you want to use.

This will permanently change the default application that opens all files of that type.
