BASIC on Linux

I miss QuickBasic. And GWBasic and MBasic and all the other interpretive and compilable) BASICs. On going to Linux it got complicated.

I know I can run QBasic under WINE, but it is not doing all I would like. Yes, it emulates a DOS terminal, but it would be nice to have BASIC for Linux just like there were various implementations of BASIC for DOS. But what I really want is one that will run in the GUI and possibly interact with the GUI interface. So what are my options?
