Bookmarks in Xubuntu 11.10
Bookmarks as displayed in the file manager are stored in
~/.gtk-bookmarks
which is a plain text file that can be edited with leafpad.
If you want a bookmark to point to the root directory of a Samba share, the only way I can see of doing this is to edit the above file. Trying to add a bookmark using the file manager insists on pointing to a directory and the root does not count.
Example entries are:
smb://SANDJ;SimonR@Server13/BigDrive/ smb://DOMAIN;userid@PCName/Partition/
