New page

=== msi U180 netbook ===
An inexpensive, lightweight netbook with a long battery life.

=== Specifications ===
Manufacturer : msi
Model . . . : U180
Graphics . . :
Processor . : Intel Atom N2600 (cores? 4 I think)
RAM . . . . : 1 Gb (That's 1 Gb on the motherboard and 1 Gb SODIMM.)
Hard drive . : 320 Gb
FSB . . . . :
L1 cache . . :
L2 cache . . :

=== What I have learned ===
Sometimes the touchpad stops working. This may be when returning from hibernate / sleep, or when disconnecting USB devices. To make the mouse come back, switch to a terminal session and enter:
sudo rmmod psmouse
sudo modprobe psmouse
Maximum memory: ?

It runs Xubuntu 14.04 very well.

=== Cannot see Wi-Fi channels 12 and 13 in Windows ===
I have my home network using Wi-Fi channel 13 but when running Windows 7 the Realtek rtl8188ce network adaptor cannot see beyond channel 11. I cannot work out how to fix that. In Linux, it works OK. I can sometimes make it work by repeatedly disabling and re-enabling the device, but that is not consistent.
